Studies on the Capability Evaluation for Korean Apple Orchard

Abstract
This study was conducted by multiple regression analysis and Hayashi¢¥s theory of quantification No.1 with the various factors in order to evaluate and to predict apple yield.
In predicting apple yield we used the factor scores obtained from the fertility evaluation and the analytical data of apple leaf as the explanatory variables for the multiple regression analysis. The result analyzed by multiple regression model was as low as R=0.47 and R=0.46, respectively.
Since the apple yield is a function of many factors, we can now proceed to predicting the apple yield from physiographical and managemental factors with the classified fertility groups by means of Hayashi¢¥s theory of quantification No. 1.
Such variables as management ability, family labor, age of tree, fertility group, land form, water availability, climatic zone, production cost, nitrogen and potassium fertilization were taken up as the explanatory variables.
As the result the quantification appeared reasonable; the management ability, age of tree, family labor factors than other factors were more contributed to apple yield and the multiple correlation coefficient was as high as 0.93 in the set of variables.
